• 1950 - Manufacturas Muñoz is established as a company manufacturing school furniture.
  • 1957 - It moves into the manufacturing of office furniture.
  • 1972 - It develops the first polypropylene-injected chair designed in Colombia: the Mariposa chair, which allows for the furnishing of auditoriums, sports arenas, school and college classrooms, waiting rooms, and is even used in the home.
  • 1984 - Building of the first automated electrostatic paint train in Colombia.
  • 1989 - Manufacturas Muñoz builds its new facilities, located in the La Estrella Municipality, in Antioquia.
  • 1999 - Introduction of a new proposition for a metal-plastic chair, the ÍO Line, which quickly gains recognition both in Colombia as well as abroad.
    • Best product at the ExpoConstrucción and ExpoDiseño shows in Bogotá.
    • Best product at the show in Habana, Cuba.
    • Nomination for Excellence at the Lapiz de Acero 2000 awards.
  • 2001 - Release into the market of a new proposal in mobile work tables for offices; the Mantis Freestanding Line, which are awarded the Lapiz de Acero 2002, in the categories of Furniture and Lighting.
  • 2003 - Is certified by ICONTEC for its quality management system, under ISO9001:2000, applicable to its activities for the design, manufacturing and marketing of chairs, furniture and spare parts, for collective and office use. 
  • 2005 - Acquisition of Advanced Technology:  Edge banding machine with numeric control for straight and curved pieces, and a Resistance Testing machine for furniture.
  • 2006 - Releases the K Line, a metal-plastic furniture system for Collective use, renews its image with the introduction of a fresh new logo.
  • 2007 - The company moves into the business of providing integrated office furniture solutions, with the release of its AIRE line, a system of managerial and operational work stations with high-end specifications, as well as with its VIVA Freestanding line, a self-supporting furniture system for operational workspaces with a wiring, voice and data solution.  It also introduces the “Menta” chair for interior and exterior spaces with an organic design and a high level of innovation.
  • 2008 - Awarded a meritorious distinction in one of the most demanding and renown international design competitions, the REDDOT DESIGN AWARD (Germany).
  • 2009 - Manufacturas Muñoz changes its brand’s visual code elements, and becomes MUMA Manufacturas Muñoz.  Karim Rashid is the guest of honor in the opening of the new showroom in Bogota.
